Some one told me sugar is the sweetest poison. And not to say I disagree, I have a sweet tooth . And I also think , healthy sugars are needed by our body. Why else would God make fruits 🙂 . I stay away from white sugar and I inspire every one around me also to do the same. My dad comes from a village where many people cross the age of 100. Their diet is pretty much all carbs ! My grandmom at 93 eats more rice than her american grand daughter in 30s. But she has never used white sugar in her life. Most people in the village have not. Not because they are health conscious , or on a diet., but simply because white sugar is more expensive compared to the locally available molasses or Jaggery. I was inspired by them and decided to stay away from white sugar or any store bought processed or packaged food. But I do have a sweet tooth. I came up with some guilt free dessert ideas made sweet by fruits and other natural sweeteners to satiate my cravings. Please try them and let me know how you like it. Here you go …

If I can name one fruit that goes well with chocolate, it is banana ! I simply love bananas and chocolate combination. I use bananas as a sugar substitute in most of my recipes. I also feel bananas as food is overly under estimated as it is largely available all over the world. The curved yellow fruit by itself is a nutrition energy bar. It is a store house of vitamins and minerals and is very helpful for those suffering from high blood pressure due to its high potassium. This yellow fruit is also good for heart health, fight diabetes, and is a mood enhancer. Bananas dipped in dark chocolate not only satisfies your chocolate craving, but can also be considered a pill for good health. Click herefor the recipe.
